For those of you who don't know already, Adam has finally started at a little pre-school. I went and saw 3 altogether. One was a bit regimented (although Adam could have benefitted enormously from some order!), one was a lovely little pre-school, but you had to drive through the red light district to get to it!!, and the third was the one I liked the best.
He started last week and I stayed with him in the class every day - edging further away until I was sat in the playground reading a book for over an hour on the last day of the week while he was running around oblivious to my presence!!
He has to take his own little bag with a drink & change of clothes in it - and today he had to wear red. He climbs into the car and says to Francis (our driver) "school please!". On the way back home, he'll say "home please!" - and he says this so clearly, even Francis understands him!!
John & Bradley went for a haircut on Saturday morning, and they both look like marines, now. We really like Adam's hair short, and I don't regret getting it cut at all, now that it's done!
Bradley is still enjoying school. Last week the 3 reception classes dressed in their national dress. I put Bradley in his England football kit, and told anyone who would listen that in some parts of England, this is national dress! They all then put on a little parade for the parents, flying the flag of their individual countries. In a british school in Manila, 18 different nationalities were represented by about 50 children!!
This half term, they are covering stories, and looking at all different kinds of stories. This week it is magical and mystical. Today, a few of them came out of class (Bradley included) so excited, because a green boy with sticky out ears (Bradley's description!) came and put some magic potion on their hands. Their teacher told them that if they make a wish after dinner tonight, it will come true (Bradley, obviously, wished for super powers - something that he fully and honestly believes is going to happen!!). Thankfully, the teachers also told them that if they wash their hands or have a shower, the potion will get washed away, and the wish won't come true!
Because of this, Bradley refused to wash the back of his right hand after using the loo, and informed me that he won't be having a shower before bed tonight!! Bless him, we jumped in the pool when we got home from school - and he's not realised yet! He's going to be heart broken tomorrow morning when it hasn't worked, or later when he realises it got washed off already!!
Next week is the last week of school for Bradley (Adam's school follows the Filipino school year which runs Jun - Sep, Sep - Dec, Jan - Easter), but he is going to go to Summer Camp at school (just a morning playscheme really) for the first 2 weeks of the holidays.
That's all for now, will blog again soon........
